Why You’ll Love It Here

Our school is nestled within a tight-knit, welcoming community where strong connections and shared values guide everything we do.

As a smaller school, we’re able to foster close relationships between teachers, students and families, ensuring each child is known, valued and supported.

Learning extends beyond the classroom through local partnerships, community events and meaningful traditions that build a deep sense of belonging, making our school a special place to teach, learn and grow.

What We Value

At Summerland Montessori School, we provide a thoughtfully prepared environment that nurtures the attitudes, skills and ideas essential for a lifetime of independent, creative thinking and learning.

Our team believes in educating the whole child by nurturing emotional, social, academic, physical and moral growth.

We help students build a positive attitude toward learning, develop strong study habits, foster discipline and self-motivation, and cultivate a strong conscience. Our supportive school community provides an inclusive team environment.

What Makes Us Unique

Summerland Montessori School is deeply connected to the local community. Our students regularly walk to the pool, rink, library, fire hall, museums and nearby parks, making learning active and place-based.

Enriching activities like our morning running club and glee club bring energy and joy to daily school life. Teachers also shape their own professional development, applying new learning directly in the classroom.

Together, these experiences foster a vibrant, well-rounded and community-rooted learning environment.

Our School Community

Our school is more than a place of learning – it’s a true village. Families are valued partners and active participants in school life, from volunteering to joining events and classroom activities.

Parent involvement creates a warm, supportive environment where students, staff and families work together to celebrate learning and help every child thrive.

The care and commitment of our families make our school a special place to teach, learn and grow.
