High-quality and equitable learning opportunities
Innovation, creativity, problem-solving, critical thinking, and sustainability
The essential value of district, community and global partnerships
Safe, inclusive and socially responsible learning communities
School District 43 has been, and always will be, focused on the fundamentals of student achievement, inclusive practice, community and cultural development, social-emotional, early, and life-long learning.
Regional Diversity
With the Coastal Mountain range as a backdrop and the mighty Fraser River to the south, our district is centered in the heart of the Lower Mainland. We are the third largest district in BC, serving the cities of Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody, and the villages of Belcarra and Anmore.
Specialty Programs
Our district strives for student success by offering a wide range of programs and services, including:
Montessori
French Immersion
Mandarin Bilingual
Advanced Placement (AP)
International Baccalaureate (IB)
Gifted (MACC and Challenge Centres)
Indigenous Education
Reggio-Influenced and Community Schools
We support students from Strong Start to Continuing Education Adult Programmes. Students are at the core of all our decisions. We want to provide the best opportunities for their future success.
We believe in “Increasing Success in Life for All.”
Community Culture
Our district practises a collaborative approach, and our teachers, support staff, vice-principals, principals and excluded staff all make a difference in the lives of students. Our Board of Education’s role is to advocate and provide support for its employees in their work: improving student learning and life chances for every student. We are committed to continuous growth and improvement for our students and our employees.
